Questions
Does converting lose any quality?
No. The output format stores the picture without discarding anything further. It cannot recover detail an earlier lossy save already threw away, but it adds no new loss.
Is there a file size limit?
No. The conversion runs on your own machine, so the only ceiling is your device's memory.
Is my file uploaded anywhere?
No. Your browser decodes and re-encodes it locally, and nothing is sent to a server.
Is this the same as "convert png to webp"?
Yes. It also gets called "png to webp converter" and "png2webp". They all describe this one job, and this page does it.
