Questions
Will the text still be selectable afterwards?
Sometimes. The tool first re-saves the file with a tighter internal structure, which frequently gets a bloated export under 100 KB on its own and leaves the text untouched. If that is not enough it falls back to rendering the pages as images, which does lose selectable text and searchability. The result tells you which of the two happened, rather than leaving you to find out later.
What if my PDF cannot get down to 100 KB?
It says so, and gives you the smallest version it managed, rather than pretending it succeeded. A long scanned document has a floor below which the pages stop being readable.
Is there a page limit or a file-size limit?
No. The work happens on your own machine, so the only limit is your device's memory. A very long document will take longer and use more of it.
Is my file uploaded anywhere?
No. Everything happens inside your browser. Nothing is sent to a server, nothing is stored, and the page keeps working with the network switched off.
Is this the same as "reduce pdf size to 100 kb"?
Yes. It also gets called "make pdf smaller than 100 kb". They all describe this one job, and this page does it.
